





JAIME GHER, ESQ.
Jaime is a lifelong social justice advocate. She has over twenty years of experience advocating for diverse individuals and marginalized communities navigating complex, often discriminatory legal systems worldwide. Seeking to apply her legal expertise and experience closer to home, Jaime founded Family Advocates – a boutique legal practice that focuses on supporting families in all of their diversity.
As an expert in fertility law, Jaime provides legal representation for individuals and couples seeking to create their families through assisted reproduction, including IVF, surrogacy and gamete donation. She develops and negotiates donor and surrogacy contracts and secures legal parentage through pre- and post-birth orders and adoptions reproduction.
For established families, Jaime provides estate and legacy planning services to help individuals and couples safeguard the financial and emotional wellbeing of their families through revocable living trusts, wills, incapacity planning, advanced healthcare directives, and powers of attorney. ​
Jaime is licensed to practice law in California. She has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of California Santa Barbara (highest honors), a Juris Doctorate (JD) from the University of San Francisco (cum laude), and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from American University, Washington College of Law. She is an active member of the American Bar Association, California Bar Association, and the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association’s Family Law Institute.
